Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies
Ingredients:
Red Velvet Cookie Dough
- ½ cup Prairie Farms Unsalted Butter softened
- ¾ cup Light Brown Sugar
- ½ cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs room temperature
- 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- ½ tsp Red Food Coloring
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- ⅓ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 ½ tsp Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Kosher Salt
Sugar Coating
- ½ cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ cup Powdered Sugar
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a medium-sized bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, add butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat with an electric stand or hand mixer until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and red food coloring, mix well. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Beat together until combined.
- Fill one bowl with granulated sugar and another with powdered sugar. Using a cookie scoop, scoop out about 1½ tablespoons at a time. Roll each dough ball first in the granulated sugar and then the powdered sugar to coat the cookies. Arrange cookie dough pieces onto the prepared cookie sheet at least 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 minutes, until the cookies have puffed up and spread out slightly with a still cooey center.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack. Enjoy!
