Farmhouse Fudge
Fudge used to be an extra special treat that would magically appear, like Santa at Christmas. Grandma would make enough to share with all of her neighbors and friends alongside her vast assortment of homemade cookies, but she'd save a special stash of it just for the grandkids.
Ingredients:
- 2 squares chocolate or 6 tbsps cocoa
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup Prairie Farms Whole Vitamin D Milk cold
- 1/3 cup light Karo
- 2 tbsp Prairie Farms Butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
- Place all but vanilla on stove, mixing well. Bring to boil over low heat, let boil, stirring occasionally until definite ball forms in cold water.
- Remove from heat, add vanilla.
- Let stand until almost cool enough to hold your hand on bottom of pan.
- Beat vigorously until mixture starts to set.
- Pour into buttered plate, cool, cut into squares.
