Ingredients:

Red Velvet Cookie Dough

  • ½ cup Prairie Farms Unsalted Butter softened
  • ¾ cup Light Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs room temperature
  • 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp Red Food Coloring
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Kosher Salt

Sugar Coating

  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cup Powdered Sugar

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, add butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat with an electric stand or hand mixer until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and red food coloring, mix well. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Beat together until combined.
  • Fill one bowl with granulated sugar and another with powdered sugar. Using a cookie scoop, scoop out about 1½ tablespoons at a time. Roll each dough ball first in the granulated sugar and then the powdered sugar to coat the cookies. Arrange cookie dough pieces onto the prepared cookie sheet at least 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, until the cookies have puffed up and spread out slightly with a still cooey center.
  • Allow to cool on a wire rack. Enjoy!
