Mom's Cinnamon Coffee Cake
Cinnamon is one of this favorite spices because it's invigorating and heartwarming at the same time. It brings back memories of childhood breakfasts around the family table — eating Mom's Cinnamon Coffee Cake warm from the oven.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup Prairie Farms Butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 1 cup Prairie Farms Buttermilk
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Crumbs for topping:
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 3 tbsp melted Prairie Farms Butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
- Cream butter and sugar, then add egg. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk and soda.
- Pour half of batter into greased pan and sprinkle with half of crumbs. Then put remaining batter on top and top with remaining crumbs.
- Bake in 8" x 12" pan in 350 °F oven for 30 min or longer.
- Crumbs for Topping: Mix together
