Beef Stroganoff
This beef stroganoff is hearty and comforting with tender beef simmered in a creamy mushroom and sour cream sauce. Served over noodles, it's a classic, satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
Beef & Base
- 1 lb beef chuck or stew meat bite-sized pieces
- 1 small onion diced
- 2 cans mushrooms drained
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Gravy
- 4 Tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Cream Finish
- 8 oz Prairie Farms Sour Cream
To Serve
- 8 oz egg noodles
Directions:
- Heat large skillet over medium-high. Brown beef with onion. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder.
- Reduce heat. Cover. Cook until beef is tender. Add small amount of liquid if needed.
- Sprinkle flour over beef. Stir to coat. Cook 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly add beef broth, stirring constantly. Simmer until thickened.
- Stir in mushrooms. Heat through.
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in sour cream. Do not boil.
- Cook noodles per package directions. Drain.
- Spoon beef mixture over noodles. Serve warm.
