Beef Stroganoff

Beef stroganoff over egg noodles, topped with parsley

Ingredients:

Beef & Base

  • 1 lb beef chuck or stew meat bite-sized pieces
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cans mushrooms drained
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Gravy

  • 4 Tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Cream Finish

  • 8 oz Prairie Farms Sour Cream

To Serve

  • 8 oz egg noodles

Directions:

  • Heat large skillet over medium-high. Brown beef with onion. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder.
  • Reduce heat. Cover. Cook until beef is tender. Add small amount of liquid if needed.
  • Sprinkle flour over beef. Stir to coat. Cook 1–2 minutes.
  • Slowly add beef broth, stirring constantly. Simmer until thickened.
  • Stir in mushrooms. Heat through.
  • Reduce heat to low. Stir in sour cream. Do not boil.
  • Cook noodles per package directions. Drain.
  • Spoon beef mixture over noodles. Serve warm.
