Noodle Kugel with Sweet Custard
Ingredients:
Custard Base
- 1 cup Prairie Farms All Natural Sour Cream
- ¾ cup Prairie Farms Whole Milk
- 3 Large Eggs
- ¼ cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- ½ tsp. Kosher Salt
- ½ cup Raisins optional
Noodles
- 8 oz. Wide Egg Noodles
- 4 oz. Prairie Farms Original Cream Cheese room temperature
- 2 tbsp. Prairie Farms Unsalted Butter softened
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease an 8x8 baking dish and set aside.
- In large mixing bowl, whisk together sour cream, milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt, and raisins (if using). Set aside.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add noodles and cook for 4-5 minutes, until just tender. Drain well.
- While noodles are still hot, stir in cream cheese and butter until both are fully melted and noodles are evenly coated.
- Transfer noodles to bowl with custard. Stir gently until everything is evenly combined.
- Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. Bake at 350ºF for 40-45 minutes, until edges are golden brown and center is set.
- Let kugel cool for 15-20 minutes, then slice and serve warm!
