Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Warm Water
  • ¼ cup Prairie Farms Whole Milk warm
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 4 tbsp Prairie Farms Unsalted Butter melted
  • 2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 3⅓ cup Bread Flour
  • 2 tbsp Prairie Farms Butter melted

Directions:

  • In a large bowl, stir together water, milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes until the yeast has activated. It will look foamy.
  • Add melted butter, salt, and ⅓ cup of flour. Using a wooden spoon, stir to combine. Add remaining 3 cups of flour and stir to form a shaggy dough.
  • Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until the dough is soft, smooth, and slightly tacky, about 8-10 minutes. If the dough is too sticky, add flour 1 tablespoon at a time while kneading.
  • Form dough into a smooth ball. Coat a large bowl with oil, add dough to bowl, and turn to coat with oil. Cover and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Prepare a 9x15" loaf pan by generously coating it with butter. Once dough has risen, punch down then turn out onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Roll dough out into a rectangle that is around 8x15 inches. It's okay if the corners are slightly rounded. Roll into a log. Tuck ends together under itself and add to prepared loaf pan. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Brush the top of dough with melted butter and bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. If the top is browning too quickly tent with foil. Test for doneness by tapping the top of the loaf and listening for a hollow sound.
  • Remove from oven and turn out onto a wire rack to cool. Brush with remaining melted butter. Slice and enjoy!
