Fried Stuffed Shells

You will love these meaty and cheesy Fried Stuffed Shells. Italian sausage (or meat of choice), cottage cheese and broccoli are all stuffed into one flavorful shell.

Breaded stuffed pasta shells on a plate with marinara sauce and parsley

Ingredients:

  • Pasta shells (you will use 2 shells for every 1 completed shell)
  • Prairie Farms Cottage Cheese
  • garlic powder
  • broccoli
  • Italian sausage (or meat of choice)

Directions:

  • For shell filling, mix cottage cheese, garlic powder and chopped broccoli.
  • Boil shells in water.
  • Drain and rinse shells (should be cool).
  • Cook meat (season to taste).
  • Add mix of shell filling and meat.
  • Cover shell with second shell to form seal.
  • Repeat until all shells used/shell filling depleted.
  • Then, fill saucepan with preferred oil and heat to proper temperature. For added flavor: roll shells in beaten egg and cover in crushed bread crumbs before frying.
  • Using large metal spoon, submerge filled double-shell into oil.
  • Shell will cook in 2-4 minutes.
  • Cook until golden brown.
  • Top with mozzarella, green onions and marinara sauce.
