Fun Facts
Q. Are all cows the same?
A. There are actually 6 different types of cows. The black and white ones- Holsteins are the most common on our dairy farms.
Q. How long does it take for milk to get to my house?
A. About TWO days! Our farmers get up before the sun, milk the cows and send trucks filled with milk to the dairy plants the same day. It's processed, packaged and delivered to stores, usually the very next day. Whew!
Q. Why do cows moo?
A. Just like you and me, they "talk" to express how they're feeling. A smart farmer or veterinarian can often tell what the cow is needing by the sound of their moo. Cool!
