Grand Champion

Prairie Farms small curd cottage cheese was crowned Grand Champion for taste, quality and freshness. Made with local milk, it beat the competition, hands down. Closely behind was our lowfat cottage cheese winning first place, proving that Prairie Farms is the undeniable leader in cottage cheese.

Judges at the 2021 World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest awarded Prairie Farms Shullsburg Creamery with a first place in the Flavored Natural Cheese category with its Cranberry Chipotle Cheddar, and third place for its Bourbon Barrel Smoked Cracked Peppercorn Cheddar.

The Caves of Faribault® division took second place in the Blue Veined/Cheese category, with St. Pete's Select® Blue Cheese.

The 2021 World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association, is the only contest of its kind in North America, since no other national contest includes all dairy products. This means that cheese, butter, yogurt, ice cream, cottage cheese, fluid milk, whipping cream, sour cream and whey processors have a unique opportunity to compete in a prestigious, all-dairy national contest. The winning companies will be afforded the unprecedented opportunity to promote and market their products as “the best of the best” in North America.
